Rendezvous introduces Jive June

jive juneOur team is all about embracing the four pillars that truly make happily EverAfter worthwhile; celebration, relaxation, discovery and intimacy, and this summer Rendezvous will be presenting for the first time, an affair that is all about moving and grooving. Summer 2014 will have a great deal to do with discovery and celebration when Rendezvous brings to life ‘Jive June,’ a month of sweeping, or being swept off your feet. For the month of June guests can look forward to exclusive day and evening dance sessions with qualified instructors from Learn to Dance UK. Private dance classes will also be available. Whether your appreciation for dance comes with knowing it’s also a great way to exercise, or because it’s all in good fun, it takes two to Tango, and Rendezvous is definitely a great place to start.

So what can I expect?

  • Seven dance classes per week with different styles of dancing, including:
  • Cha cha Cha, Tango and Waltz Friday night dance evenings on the Terrace
  • Private dance classes (by request only)

Week 1 & 2

Antony and Donna-Marie from Learn to Dance UK

Set up in 2006 the school has grown from a once-a-week hobby into a full time enterprise. Antony started Ballroom and Latin American at the age of three and competed for most of his life, both nationally and internationally. He qualified as a teacher with the NATD and provides beginner to advanced tuition for exams to a number of students.

The Learn to Dance philosophy is that dancing should be fun and it is this philosophy that has led the dance school to expand and strengthen each year. Antony and Donna-Marie look forward to meeting Rendezvous’ guests and introducing them to “a healthy way of keeping fit and having fun.

Week 2 & 3

Robert Frank & Melissa Keller

Robert is an award winning instructor and competitor who began his ballroom career in 1990. He soon was discovered by a well renowned coach who convinced him to relocate to NYC to continue working with some of Dance sports greatest talents like Louis van Amstel, Ruud Vermeij, Tony Meredith, Vibeke Toft, Allan Tornsberg, Shirley Ballas and many more. He has also taught at some of the country’s most premier ballroom studios. He holds multiple degrees in dance education and certifications through Gold from NDCA, ISTD, DCOA and UMASS. A well-rounded and versatile dancer trained in all styles including American Smooth/Rhythm, International standard/ Latin competitive and social. Robert has also choreographed and collaborated with many music and Film stars  as well as landing many roles in commercials, TV, film and music videos.

Melissa started dancing at the age of 5 experiencing several styles of dance including ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and lyrical. She also has done many forms of performing arts including acting and theatre. Melissa fell in love with ballroom the very first time she did it at the age of 16, and just a year later won American smooth and rhythm as a junior pro/am at the World Promotions World Championship! As a professional, she has won the American Rhythm Astaire World Championship, open rhythm regional champion and open rhythm national finalist! She has a passion for bringing people together and sharing the art of ballroom dancing whether it is social or competitive.
